Day 1 (SATURDAY)
Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Quito or Guayaquil and transfer to the
Hotel for overnight. (no meals)
Day 2 (SUNDAY)
Santa Cruz. Departure from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra (aprox. 2 and half hour
flight). Passengers are picked up at the airport by our guides and taken to the
Itabaca canal, then cross to the Island of Santa Cruz and travel to Puerto
Ayora. Santa Cruz (Highlands). One option is to cross the highlands of Santa
Cruz. Passengers will visit Cerro Chato. You’ll be able to observe the famous
giant tortoises. Additionally, travelers can walk inside the dormant lava tubes.

Day 3 (MONDAY)
Española (Suarez Point). Dry landing. Visitors will learn about the lava terrain
cross the inactive lava fields. Besides the sea lion colonies, this is a very
important site for bird watching. Various bird species such as the mockingbird
of Española, Nazca booby and tropic bird can be spotted and observed from very
close. You will also see a large colony of marine iguanas, lava lizards, and
rally light foot crabs. After a short trek visitors encounter colonies of Nazca
and blue-footed boobies. The nesting grounds sometimes overlap the trail.
Visitors will also find Galapagos doves, hawks and swallow-tailed gulls and then
reach the world’s largest colony of waved albatross. A major highlight is their
mating season, from May through December. You’ll visit the famous blowhole,
where water shoots into the air about 23 m (75 ft). Española (Gardner Bay). Wet
landing on a white coral beach amidst a large colony of sea lions. This site has
no trails, so hiking is not possible. It’s an open area where you can spot
Galapagos hawks, American oyster catchers, Galapagos doves, and hood
mockingbirds, 3 species of Darwin finches, yellow warblers, lava lizards, and
marine iguanas.
It’s great for swimming and snorkeling, and you can see many Galapagos marine
species like king angelfish, Creole fish, damsel fish, parrot fish, manta rays,
and white tipped reef sharks. (b, l, d)
Day 4 (TUESDAY)
Floreana (Cormorant Point). Wet landing on a greenish colored beach. Visitors
will hike from black mangrove beds to a large, brackish lagoon which holds one
of the biggest flamingo populations in the Galapagos. This island features
endemic plants such as Scalesia cillosa, Galapagos daisies, white and black
mangrove, and holy stick. Novice snorkelers can practice on the main beach with
playful sea lions. Champions After Cormorant Point, we’ll make dinghy ride along
the coast. One hour tour to observe: blue-footed bobbies, sea lions, marine
iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls. Deep water snorkeling, this unforgettable
activity lasts an hour approximately you will be swimming in an aquarium with
colorful fishes, tame sharks, and rays. Floreana (Post office) Located on the
north side of Floreana Island, the bay is so-named because in 1793, Captain
James Colnett installed an empty barrel which served as an informal post box for
sailors who passed through the Galapagos, taking with them the letters to their
destination. Today, our visitors continue the tradition by placing unstamped
postcards inside the barrel which reach their destinations for free. It can take
weeks, sometimes months, or sometimes the cards never arrive at all! Down a path
you can observe the mocking bird of Galapagos, some species of Darwin’s finches,
yellow Wardle and lava lizards. (b, l, d)
Day 5 (WEDNESDAY)
North Seymour. Dry landing. Guests will encounter swallow-tailed gulls and sea
lions. This site is a major nesting colony of blue-footed boobies and has the
largest colony of the magnificent frigate bird. Travelers will also spot both
iguana species, the marine iguanas and land iguanas, and then hike around the
nesting sites. Disembark at the docks (Baltra); passengers will take a bus to
the airport for their flight back to the mainland via Guayaquil to Quito.

Day 6 QUITO LIMA (THURSDAY)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your connection flight to Lima (not
included) to take an exiting extension to Peru, Cusco and Machu Picchu. Upon
arrival transfer to Hotel for Overnight. (B)
Day 7 - LIMA / CUSCO (FRIDAY)
You will be picked up from your Hotel in Lima and transferred to the Lima
airport for the flight to Cuzco (airfare included). Upon arrival, you will be
met and driven to 5stars deluxe Hotel. In the afternoon pick up between 1:15pm
and 1:30pm. This tour includes the Qoricancha (temple of the sun) and the
Cathedral. The tour drives along the Circunvalacion Road up to famous fortress
of Sacsayhuaman, then to Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay Including Spanish
and English speaking guide. Also included in this is a tourist card, giving you
access to all the sites in the Cuzco area as a whole (i.e., including outside of
the City itself). This tour finishes at 18:00, Overnight. (no meals)
Day 8 - CUSCO / MACHU PICCHU (SATURDAY)
private transportation from your hotel to the Poroy train station. The Hiram
Bingham departs from Poroy Station (20 minutes outside Cusco) at 9am which gives
a more leisurely start to the day than the traditional 6am departures of other
train services to Machu Picchu. Brunch is served on board the train whilst
passengers watch the spectacular scenery unfolding before them. From the
agricultural plains of the Sacred Valley, to the crashing waters of the Urubamba
river, and as you get closer to Machu Picchu the soaring mountains, the scenery
is constantly changing, and the Hiram Bingham travels at a speed where this can
be appreciated. The train arrives into Aguas Calientes where private minibuses
await passengers to escort them on the fifteen minute journey up to the citadel,
avoiding the queues. Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu entrance, passengers can
go straight into the citadel as tickets will have been pre-purchased for all
guests. A guide will escort you around the citadel in small groups, pointing out
the best of the ruins and recounting the history of this Inca settlement. After
the guided tour, guests are given the choice to wander alone through this
fascinating World Heritage site, or to enjoy Afternoon Tea at the Machu Picchu
Sanctuary Lodge, the Orient-Express hotel located right at the entrance to the
citadel. The Hiram Bingham departs at 18.00. Guests are welcomed back on board
with pre-dinner cocktails served in the Bar Car with live musical entertainment.
Later a 4-course, à la carte dinner is served in the dining cars. The train
pulls into Poroy station just outside Cusco at 21.25. private transportation
from Poroy train station to your hotel in Cusco city. (breakfast, brunch,
optional afternoon tea at Macchu Picchu sanctuary lodge hotel, 4-course, à la
carte dinner)
Day 9 - SACRED VALLEY TOUR (SUNDAY)
after breakfast at your hotel, You will be picked up between 8.15am and 8.45am.
Full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting: the village of
Pisac, a picturesque town of Creole and colonial aspect and its Indian market
and craftfair. Lunch provided. In the afternoon you'll visit to the fortress of
Ollantaytambo, an architectural group that in the days of the Tahuantinsuyo
empire was a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and
military complex, then the Chinchero market. At the end, return to Cusco
arriving at 6:30pm approximately (B, L)
Day 10 - CUSCO / LIMA (MONDAY)
Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your return flight back to Lima
(airfare included). (B)
